How we provide written estimates and obtain your approval before any work begins.

Estimates: All estimates provided by Highlight Clips Mobile Mechanic are based on the information available at the time of the estimate, including the customer's description of the issue, visible vehicle conditions, diagnostic findings, and expected parts and labor. Estimates are not guaranteed final prices. Additional issues, hidden damage, seized or broken components, incorrect prior repairs, or other conditions may be discovered after work begins.

Customer Authorization: No repair work will begin without customer authorization. Authorization may be provided electronically, including by text message, email, digital approval, or another written electronic communication. Electronic authorization will be treated as the customer's approval to proceed with the work and charges described in the estimate.

Additional Work: If additional repairs, parts, or labor are discovered that would materially increase the approved estimate, the customer will be contacted for approval before that additional work is performed. The customer is not required to approve additional recommended work.

Estimate Changes: Parts prices, availability, taxes, fees, and labor requirements may change between the initial estimate and the actual repair. The customer will be informed of material changes requiring additional authorization before the additional work proceeds.

Declined or Stopped Repairs: If the customer declines additional work after diagnosis, disassembly, or repair work has begun, the customer remains responsible for authorized diagnostic charges, labor already performed, parts already purchased or installed, and any other previously authorized charges.

Approval by Text or Electronic Communication: A customer does not need to physically sign a paper estimate for authorization to be valid. A clear written response approving the estimate or directing Highlight Clips Mobile Mechanic to proceed may serve as authorization.

How diagnostic fees work, when payment is due, and when a repair credit may apply.

Highlight Clips Mobile Mechanic charges a diagnostic and inspection fee for service calls that require a mechanic to inspect, test, troubleshoot, or determine the cause of a vehicle issue. Diagnostic fees generally range from $99 to $150, depending on the complexity of the issue, the type of testing required, and the customer's location.

The exact diagnostic fee will be disclosed to the customer before a mechanic is dispatched. The diagnostic fee covers the mechanic's travel, time, professional expertise, inspection, testing, and use of diagnostic equipment. The fee is due once the diagnostic service has been performed, regardless of whether the customer chooses to proceed with the recommended repair.

In some cases, up to $50 of the diagnostic fee may be applied toward an approved repair performed by Highlight Clips Mobile Mechanic. This credit is not automatic or guaranteed and may be offered depending on the repair, total job cost, parts and labor requirements, and other circumstances. Any applicable credit will be clearly communicated before the repair is authorized.

Diagnostic services are intended to identify the most likely cause of a vehicle concern based on the symptoms present and the testing reasonably available at the time of service. Some vehicle issues may require additional testing, disassembly, specialized equipment, or further diagnostic work. If additional diagnostic charges may apply, the customer will be informed before that additional work is performed.

Travel or service-area fees may apply for appointments outside our standard coverage area. Any additional travel fee will be disclosed before dispatch.

How parts are sourced, ordered, approved, and paid for before your repair.

Highlight Clips Mobile Mechanic sources parts from reputable automotive parts suppliers and other approved sources based on the customer's repair needs, budget, vehicle, and parts availability. Whenever possible, we use quality new parts that meet or exceed original equipment specifications. With customer approval, we may also source remanufactured, used, recycled, or salvage-yard parts when appropriate.

Parts pricing shown on an estimate is based on current supplier pricing and availability at the time the estimate is prepared. Because pricing and availability can change, the final parts cost may be updated before an order is placed. Any material change to the approved estimate will be communicated to the customer before proceeding.

Upfront Parts Payment

For repairs requiring $300 or more in parts, payment for the parts is required before the parts are ordered. For repairs requiring less than $300 in parts, Highlight Clips Mobile Mechanic may purchase the parts upfront and include the cost in the customer's final invoice.

Highlight Clips Mobile Mechanic reserves the right to require full upfront payment for any special-order, non-returnable, high-cost, vehicle-specific, used, recycled, salvage-yard, remanufactured, or difficult-to-source parts, regardless of the total parts cost.

Because parts are purchased specifically for the customer's vehicle and repair, all required parts payments must be received before those parts are purchased. A repair appointment may not be confirmed until required parts payments have been received and necessary parts have been secured.

Used, Recycled & Salvage-Yard Parts

In some cases, Highlight Clips Mobile Mechanic may recommend or install used, recycled, salvage-yard, remanufactured, or other alternative parts when new parts are unavailable, cost-prohibitive, or when the customer requests a more affordable repair option.

The customer will be informed when a part is not new and must approve the use of the alternative part before it is purchased or installed. Payment for used, recycled, salvage-yard, special-order, and non-returnable parts is required in full before purchase, regardless of the standard $300 parts-payment threshold.

Used and salvage parts are sold and installed subject to the warranty, exchange, and return policies of the supplying facility. Highlight Clips Mobile Mechanic does not independently guarantee the remaining lifespan or future performance of a used or salvage part beyond any written warranty specifically provided by the supplier or Highlight Clips Mobile Mechanic.

If a used or salvage part is defective, Highlight Clips Mobile Mechanic will assist the customer with any valid supplier warranty or exchange claim. Unless specifically stated in writing, supplier warranties on used, recycled, or salvage parts do not cover diagnostic charges, removal, reinstallation, additional labor, towing, transportation, rental vehicles, or other related costs.

Cancellations, Returns & Refunds

If a customer cancels after parts have already been ordered or purchased, any refund will depend on the supplier's return and cancellation policies. Restocking fees, shipping charges, return fees, cancellation fees, and the cost of non-returnable, special-order, used, or salvage parts may be deducted from any eligible refund.

Parts that cannot be returned to the supplier may not be eligible for a refund once purchased. Highlight Clips Mobile Mechanic will communicate any known non-returnable status whenever reasonably possible before the purchase is made.

Defective Parts & Warranty Claims

If a part sourced by Highlight Clips Mobile Mechanic is believed to be defective, we will assist with the applicable manufacturer, distributor, supplier, or salvage facility warranty process. Parts warranties do not automatically include additional labor, diagnostic charges, removal, reinstallation, towing, transportation, or other related expenses unless those items are specifically covered in writing.

Customer-Supplied Parts

Customer-supplied parts are not treated the same as parts sourced by Highlight Clips Mobile Mechanic. Any rules regarding installation, fitment, defective customer-supplied parts, labor charges, and warranties for customer-supplied parts should be governed by Highlight Clips Mobile Mechanic's separate Customer-Supplied Parts Policy.

Notice requirements and fees for cancelling or rescheduling appointments.

We understand that schedules change. To cancel or reschedule an appointment without penalty, we require a minimum of four hours' notice before your scheduled service time. Notice may be provided by phone call or text message to 469.269.6429. Providing advance notice allows us to offer the time slot to another DFW customer who may be waiting for service.

Same-day cancellations, defined as cancellations made less than four hours before the scheduled service time, are subject to a same-day cancellation fee. This fee covers the mechanic's travel and scheduling commitment to your location. The cancellation fee will be disclosed when you schedule your appointment and is due upon receipt of the cancellation notice.

If you need to reschedule rather than cancel, we will gladly work with you to find a new appointment time. Rescheduling with at least four hours' notice is performed at no charge. Same-day rescheduling may be treated as a cancellation and subject to the same-day cancellation fee, with a new appointment scheduled at the next available time.

If we need to reschedule or cancel an appointment due to weather, parts availability, or other operational reasons, we will notify you as early as possible and rebook your appointment at no cost to you. Rebooking after a customer-initiated cancellation follows the standard scheduling process and is subject to current availability.

Repairs performed by us are backed by up to an 18-month labor workmanship warranty.

Repairs performed by us are backed by up to an 18-month labor workmanship warranty. Highlight Clips Mobile Mechanic stands behind repairs performed by our company for up to 18 months from the date the repair is completed.

Qualifying repairs performed by us are covered by an 18-month labor workmanship warranty. If the original repair fails because of an error in our workmanship or installation, we will inspect the vehicle and, if the warranty claim is approved, re-perform the covered labor at no additional labor charge.

This warranty applies only to the specific repair and labor originally performed by Highlight Clips Mobile Mechanic. It does not guarantee that the entire vehicle, system, or related components will remain problem-free for 18 months.

What This Warranty Does Not Cover

This labor workmanship warranty does NOT cover: (1) Failure of the part itself unless the part is covered under a separate manufacturer, supplier, or parts warranty. (2) Customer-supplied parts. (3) Used, salvage-yard, junkyard, remanufactured, or other non-new parts unless a separate written warranty is specifically provided. (4) Normal wear and tear or routine maintenance items. (5) New or unrelated mechanical or electrical problems. (6) Damage caused by overheating, continued driving after a warning light or known problem, accidents, misuse, racing, modifications, improper maintenance, environmental conditions, or repairs performed or altered by another person or repair facility after our work. (7) Pre-existing conditions or additional problems discovered after the original repair.

Parts Warranty Coverage

Parts warranty coverage varies depending on who supplied the part and the warranty offered by the manufacturer or supplier. Highlight Clips Mobile Mechanic will assist customers with eligible parts warranty claims when reasonably possible, but parts warranties are separate from our 18-month labor workmanship warranty.

How to Make a Warranty Claim

To make a warranty claim, the customer must contact Highlight Clips Mobile Mechanic promptly after noticing a possible issue and provide the original invoice or repair information. We must be given a reasonable opportunity to inspect and diagnose the vehicle before another mechanic or repair facility performs corrective work. Unauthorized repairs performed elsewhere may void coverage for the claimed issue.

Warranty service is subject to inspection and verification that the problem is directly related to the original covered repair. Approved warranty work must generally be performed within our Dallas-Fort Worth service area.

Up to 18 Months

We advertise a strong 18-month labor workmanship warranty. The 'up to 18 months' wording allows shorter or different coverage to be specified in writing on the estimate or invoice for certain high-risk repairs, while still providing our standard 18-month coverage for most qualifying work.

Acceptance of customer-supplied parts and the responsibilities that come with them.

We accept customer-supplied parts for installation, though we recommend allowing us to source parts on your behalf to ensure quality, compatibility, and warranty coverage. If you choose to supply your own parts, please review this policy carefully, as it affects the warranty and your responsibilities for the repair.

When you supply parts, no labor warranty is provided on the installation of those parts. Because we cannot verify the condition, authenticity, or quality of components we did not source, we are unable to guarantee the long-term performance of the repair. If a customer-supplied part fails, you are responsible for the cost of any return visit and re-installation.

You are responsible for ensuring that any parts you supply are the correct parts for your specific vehicle make, model, year, and trim. We will inspect the parts before installation and inform you if we identify a compatibility issue. If a part is incorrect or appears damaged, we will not proceed with installation until a correct part is obtained, and the diagnostic or travel fee for the visit may still apply.

All customer-supplied parts must be inspected by our mechanic before installation begins. The inspection confirms the part matches the vehicle and is in new, unused condition. We reserve the right to decline installation of any part that we determine to be unsafe, counterfeit, or otherwise unsuitable for the repair. In such cases, the diagnostic or travel fee for the visit still applies.

How we document vehicle condition and our position on pre-existing damage.

Before beginning any service, our mechanic will document the condition of your vehicle, including any visible pre-existing damage, warning lights, or operational concerns. This documentation protects both you and our team by establishing a clear record of the vehicle's state at the time service began. Documentation may include written notes and photographs of relevant areas.

We ask that you disclose any known pre-existing issues, recent repairs, or unusual vehicle behavior before service begins. Full disclosure helps us diagnose accurately and avoids misunderstandings about the cause of any condition observed during or after the repair. If you are aware of a pre-existing condition that is unrelated to the requested repair, please mention it so we can note it in our records.

Highlight Clips Mobile Mechanic is not liable for pre-existing issues, damage, or wear that existed before our service was performed. Our responsibility is limited to the specific repair authorized in your estimate. We are not responsible for failures or conditions that develop as a result of normal wear, age, or pre-existing damage that was not caused by our workmanship.

If our mechanic identifies a pre-existing issue during the course of performing the authorized repair, we will inform you before continuing. We will not perform additional work beyond the authorized scope without your explicit approval. Any new findings will be documented and a separate estimate provided if you wish to address the additional issue.

Accepted payment methods, payment timing, refunds, and chargeback handling.

We accept cash, major credit cards, debit cards, and contactless payment methods such as Apple Pay. For qualifying customers, flexible financing options are also available for larger repairs. Payment is due at the completion of the authorized repair unless other arrangements have been made in writing in advance.

For repairs requiring parts to be ordered, parts payment is due at the time the parts are ordered, as described in the Parts Payment Policy. Labor and any remaining fees are due upon completion of the repair. If a repair cannot be completed due to circumstances within our control, we will not charge for labor that was not performed, though the diagnostic fee and any non-refundable parts costs may still apply.

Refunds are available for cancelled work under specific conditions. If you cancel a repair before parts have been ordered and before labor has begun, you may receive a full refund of any amounts paid toward that repair, excluding the diagnostic fee. If parts have already been ordered, the parts cost is non-refundable for special-order items and subject to a restocking fee for returnable items, as described in the Parts Payment Policy.

If you believe a charge is incorrect or wish to dispute a billing matter, please contact us directly by phone or text at 469.269.6429 before initiating a chargeback with your card issuer. We will review the matter promptly and work to resolve it. Initiating a chargeback without first contacting us may delay resolution. Valid billing errors will be corrected, and we will provide documentation supporting any charges that are accurate.

Your responsibility to provide a safe, accessible service location in DFW.

Mobile mechanic service requires a safe and accessible location for our mechanic to perform the repair. You are responsible for providing a suitable service location within the Dallas-Fort Worth area where the vehicle is parked and where our mechanic can safely work. This includes locations such as your home driveway, office parking lot, or another agreed-upon site.

The service location must provide adequate lighting, sufficient working space around the vehicle, and a surface that can safely support the weight of the vehicle and any equipment required for the repair. If the location is unsafe, inaccessible, or otherwise unsuitable for mobile service, our mechanic may decline to perform the repair on-site, and the diagnostic or travel fee for the visit may still apply.

You are responsible for ensuring that our mechanic has legal permission to access the service location. This includes obtaining any necessary permissions from property owners, homeowners associations, or parking facility operators. If access is restricted or denied, we may be unable to perform the repair, and the diagnostic or travel fee for the visit may still apply.

For safety reasons, please keep children and pets away from the work area during the repair. If the repair requires the vehicle to be lifted, ensure the surface is level and stable. If weather conditions make on-site service unsafe, we may reschedule the appointment at no charge. If you have questions about whether your location is suitable for mobile service, please contact us in advance and we will be happy to discuss the details.
